Calibre Covers, Riftwar Saga – Raymond Feist

I’m a huge nerd when it comes to organizing my books in Calibre. I make sure that all books have the correct titles, correct authors, correct series and series number… and I make sure that my covers all match eachother. Usually, this is a non-issue. Find the nicest looking set of cover images, and go with that. But when it comes to picking one for Raymond Feist’s Riftwar Saga – Magician Apprentice, Magician Master, Silverthorn, and A Darkness at Sethanon – I ran into a conundrum.

All of the covers were attractive to me. And I didn’t know which to pick. Even the French and Portuguese editions were beautiful. Although the new UK editions remind me frighteningly of the Twilight covers, the YA versions of them are beautiful.

So, here’s the question: Which would you pick?

Riftwar Saga, Early English Edition

Magician Silverthorn Sethanon

Riftwar Saga, Later Metallic English Edition

Magician Silverthorn Sethanon

Riftwar Saga, New UK English Edition

Magician Silverthorn Sethanon

Riftwar Saga, New UK English Young Adult Edition

Magician Silverthorn

Riftwar Saga, French Edition (Translated Covers)

Magician Apprentice Magician Master Silverthorn Sethanon

Riftwar Saga, Portuguese Edition

Magician Apprentice Magician Master Silverthorn Sethanon

I ended up going with the YA Edition of the UK cover. It suits the series better, imo, even though I’m nowhere near the demographic they are marketed for. By the by, for anyone interested in using these covers, right-click, view image, save as – and you’ll get the larger-sized cover photos. Some are better quality than others, but these were the best I could find. Feel free to scan the web for higher quality cover images;tThey may be out by now.

To change the cover in Calibre…

Right click on the book in Calibre, and go to “Edit Metadata”, and then “Edit Metadata Individually”. (You don’t want to put the same exact cover for multiple books, so it has to be done individually.) Then drag the cover image over the top of the existing one (bottom left-hand corner of the edit metadata window), and save.

And, as a bonus since you’re so awesome, here’s the French covers with English titles:

Feist Empire Series Book 1, Daughter of the Empire Feist Empire Series Book 2, Servant of the Empire Feist Empire Series Book 3, Mistress of the Empire

The cover art is by Anne-Claire Payet, and in French, they’re called:
Fille de l’empire
Pair de l’empire
Maîtresse de l’empire
